When I first began working with the concept for this book, my intention was to share my experience on 9-11-2001 and the profound changes this historic event catalyzed in my life. As the ideas flowed, the project took on more depth and focus, ultimately resembling nothing I had first imagined. It seemed that the book itself was guiding the project and I was merely a dutiful scribe, serving the work.
As the deeper meaning revealed itself to me, an important theme became clear: that no matter the form of the catalyst, there comes a moment in everyone's life when some higher power calls "full stop!" to the mundane proceedings we think of as our lives. It is this waiting to live moment that stops us in our tracks; that turns our lives inside out; and that ultimately turns our faces back to our spiritual Source.
There's an unfathomable power behind this force. It is beyond Nature, certainly beyond our personal will to grab hold of it, wrestle it to the ground, and tame it. Indeed, it demands that we follow its lead. Based on my unforgettable 9-year journey, I can assure you it's not taking no for an answer.
As I continued re-framing the work to include these newest details, (as well as questioning how I would do justice to the book) another more illuminating truth began to shine from the fog. Now there was no doubt in my mind that 9-11 was a world event of such magnitude that it marked a turning point in humanity's spiritual evolution. For behind the curtain of the world stage, it served as a global wake-up call for us to recognize our interconnection, and to expand our vision of humankind's crucial role in its own unfoldment.
